Friend. Artist. Cat Whisperer.
Andrew may be many things, but the one thing he really can't be is labeled. Always his own person, with many interests and ambitions, it's quite possible that raising silk worms and wanting to play with chameleons in Madagascar are among the most unique. Rock climbing, clay molding, chess playing, video gaming, and drawing are just a smattering of the many things he enjoys doing to pass the time.
Living nearly half his life in Portugal, Andrew quickly learned the value of always knowing where his towel is — the beach was just a short walk away, after all. This unique experience also taught him how to make friends in two languages: English and Portuguese. Three, if you count British English.
Always having strong opinions and a centered moral compass, at the age of six, Andrew proclaimed that he "hates bullies, pollution, violence, and spinach." It's safe to say that he still hates those things.
Throughout his life, Andrew has shown that he can take on challenges with strength and resolution, never allowing anybody to compromise his values or muddy his vision. It will be exciting to see how his life unfolds as he journeys forward!
Good Bye High School!

Andrew started high school at North Kitsap just a few weeks after moving back from living eight years in Portugal. Never having trouble adapting to new situations, he excelled from the get-go, diving right into creating a social life and maintaining a high level of academic achievement.
From participating in the Student Technology Association (where he was a project manager and lead designer), to playing the role of Henry in the musical The Fantasticks (a performance which recently earned him the award for this year's Best Performing Actor), Andrew has thrown himself into the high school experience at every level.
Earlier this year, Andrew was diagnosed with an acute case of Senioritis. Always one to stare adversity in the face, he has shown bravery and resilience, and is expected to make a full recovery by June 12th.
Hello College!

Andrew didn't always want to go to college. When he was five, he wanted to go straight from Kindergarten to being a surgeon. But years later, after contemplating all his options, he was accepted into the Virtual Technology and Design program at the University of Idaho in Moscow (not that Moscow).
"What is Virtual Technology and Design," you ask? It's a blend of studies that include computer science, 3D modeling, animation, design, art, and storytelling: all of which comprise the skills necessary to succeed at what Andrew has wanted to be since he was 14 years old — a video game designer.
He is also considering a minor in Psychology (another interest of his), so that he can explore the relationship between video games and the human condition, and how one can benefit the other.
Andrew starts school on August 24th.
